In this week’s digest: Warehouse Live’s GoFundMe Page, EaDo’s nominees for the CultureMap Tastemaker Awards, and $250 fines for Houstonians who don’t wear masks.
The famed EaDo music venue’s GoFundMe page is anything but a normal fundraiser. The “Roast Us Challenge”—recently mentioned in an ABC13 article—features staff offering to dye their hair pink, get matching tattoos, and even wax their chests on a livestream to raise money for their colleagues while the venue remains closed.
Congratulations to all the wonderful EaDo eateries and bars that were nominated for CultureMap Tastemaker Awards, held Thursday, August 6.

In response to the City of Houston reporting 1,000+ new COVID-19 cases for six days in a row, Mayor Turner announced that HPD officers will issue $250 fines to Houstonians who don’t wear masks while out in public. Among the city’s many concerns is the devastating effect the virus is having on minority communities across Houston.
