Let’s taco ‘bout Brothers Taco House

Houston Chronicle restaurant critic Alison Cook recently dropped a great review of EaDo’s iconic Brothers Taco House. Founded by the Alejandro family in 2003, the restaurant has become a popular destination for its tacos and homemade tortillas., In addition to the tacos, Cook mentions  authentic items from their menu like rajas con queso, chile relleno, and picadillo con papas. Get to know the man behind Koffeteria

Koffeteria owner and pastry chef Vanarin Kuch was recently featured in an article in OutSmart Magazine. He gets a chance to not only speak about his highly anticipated restaurant, but his journey to perfect his skills by traveling to New York and Chicago before making his way back home with the support of his husband, opera director Andreas Hager.

 

The comedian using stand up to make a difference

Corey Evans is a local comedian who uses his comedy showcase called “On a School Night?” as a platform to raise money for local students and teachers at EaDo’s The Secret Group. The cause is special to Evans not only because he’s a seventh-grade teacher himself, but because it allows him to combine his love of teaching and comedy

 

What to look forward to amid Dynamo changes

The Dynamo have undergone major changes in preparation for the upcoming season. The most significant being the addition of new head coach Tab Ramos, in the hopes of bringing another MLS trophy to Houston. ABC 13 interviewed Vice President of Marketing for the Dynamo and Dash, Zac Emmons to get his perspective on the evolution of the team and its management.

Houston Dynamo Fan Fest 2020

The Dynamo is hosting a free FanFest this Saturday, January 25 at noon in preparation for the new season. Activities include a chance to watch an open practice of the team, a photo op with championship trophies, and other family-friendly activities. All you have to do is sign up on their website for your free ticket. 

 

USWNT vs Haiti

The Women’s National Soccer Team’s road to the Olympics kicks off January 28 here in Houston. They’ll take on Haiti in their first game of the series to secure their spot in the 2020 Olympics hosted by Japan. Lunar New Year at 8th Wonder

Can’t make it Teen How Taoist Temple’s Lunar New Year festivities? No worries, 8th Wonder has you covered. They’re hosting a Lunar New Year event on January 25 including performances/demos, family-friendly activities, food trucks, and vendors featuring local artisans. The festivities begin at 11 a.m. ending at 4 p.m. with free admission.
