What’s happening this week: The Nancy’s Hustle team takes on new food ventures, Pierogi Queen comes to EaDo, and Astros’ gameday giveaway previews.
EaDo favorite Nancy’s Hustle is expanding into new territory with pizza. Chef Jason Vaughn, beverage specialist Sean Jensen, and pastry chef Julia Doran are in the works to open a pizza restaurant, located at nearby 2716 McKinney Street. Their new venture, Tiny Champions, is set to open later this year in the fall.
Pierogi Queen is in the midst of expanding outside of League City and into the new Conservatory food court coming to EaDo at 2118 Lamar Street. Last year, Pierogi Queen made Allison Cook’s Top 100 Houston Restaurants of 2019, and it’s a great addition to EaDo’s growing unique restaurant portfolio.
With baseball season just around the corner, the Houston Astros have officially announced a preview of this season’s game giveaways, along with corresponding game dates. Some of the goodies to look forward to are throwback replica jerseys, including Lance Berkman’s ’00-’01 replica jersey. The full list of giveaways will be released on a month to month basis.
8th Wonder Brewery and The Secret Group are hosting Houston’s best comedians for a recurring event beginning Sunday, March 8th at 6 p.m. at 2101 Polk Street. Tickets for the event are $5 for general admission and $8 for admission and a souvenir signature-branded pint glass.
Join podcast LetsDoThisHouston and Best Friend Weekend for a live taping and bike ride to EaDeaux’s Cajun Food Truck in EaDo. The Houston Dynamo will host the Seattle Sounders FC March 14 at 7:30 p.m. The Houston Dynamo previously lost against the Sounders last season, but hope to win under the direction of new Dynamo coach, Tab Ramos. Tickets are available online.
