J.’s Bodega and Deli Featured by Houstonia Magazine

EaDo’s newest deli is open to the public and offers some hidden gems, according to a new article from Houstonia Magazine. One recommendation: the “Z-Zoo” sandwich, described as a “sammie that has grilled chicken strips; multiple slices of semi-soft, semi-crispy bacon; mozzarella; and brown gravy.” Other menu options include breakfast favorites in addition to salads and burgers. Dash Draws 3-3 with Utah Royals FC in the NWSL Challenge Cup

The Houston Dash opened the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup June 30 with a thrilling match against the Utah Royals FC. The game ended in a 3-3 draw, and Dash team captain, Rachel Daly, successfully scored twice during the game. Read the full article and watch highlights from the game here. The Dash’s next tournament game will be broadcast on CBS on Saturday, July 4 when they take on Washington state’s OL Reign.

 

Houston Dynamo Will Play in the MLS is Back Tournament  

The Houston Dynamo men’s soccer team will return to action on July 13 to face the Los Angeles Football Club in the MLS is Back Tournament. The Dynamo will also face the Portland Timbers on July 18, and LA Galaxy on July 23. All three of the Dynamo’s matches will be televised, and air at 7 p.m. CDT. Koffeteria makes changes to their dine-in services

Koffeteria, an EaDo favorite, has suspended dine-in services for now, but the back patio remains open for dining. All customers are required to wear a mask inside the cafe, and Koffeteria will provide disposable masks to customers who do not have one. Takeout and curbside pickup is available. You can order their delicious pastries, like the Beef Phở kolache and Hot Cheetos Croissant, via their website.

 

Local Business Updates

 

Pitch 25 

Pitch 25 has temporarily closed its doors in compliance with the city’s order that all bars must close. Pitch 25 promises they will continue to test their staff regularly and pass out free masks to customers when they open again. Make sure to follow their Facebook page for updates.

 

EaDo Bike Co 

EaDo Bike Co. has made some updates to their services. The store announced they are only allowing customers into the store by appointment. Customers can call 281-826-2453, text, or DM EaDo Bike Co. to set up an in-store appointment. Each customer must keep proper distance, wear a mask, and limit the amount of products they touch. Service drop-offs are also by appointment only. Hours of operation are Monday, Thursday and Friday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m and Sunday from 12 p.m to 2 p.m.

 

8th Wonder 

8th Wonder has temporarily closed their taproom. Walk-ups and curbside pickup is still available Monday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visit their website to see their full beer list and to pre-order.
