The improvements to EaDo keep coming!
EaDo is amazing already, but plenty of groups are working hard to make it even better. TIRZ 15, for example, supports businesses, residents, and visitors in East Downtown with infrastructure projects that improve safety, accessibility, and mobility. It currently has two projects nearing completion.
The Walker Street Rehabilitation will integrate bicycle and vehicular traffic signals at Emancipation Avenue, as well as improve intersections, asphalt resurfacing, and new ADA ramps along a three-block stretch south of Shell Energy Stadium.
The Columbia Tap Trail upgrades courtesy of TIRZ 15 are also getting their finishing touches. You’ll soon be able to enjoy fitness equipment, a bicycle fix-it station, new benches, a water fountain, and pedestrian-friendly lighting between St. Charles Street and Ennis Street.
