Wondering what to do in EaDo this July? From the premiere of a soccer leagues cup to a variety of can’t-miss musical acts, there’s no shortage of entertainment in the neighborhood. Here are some of the highlights.
We’d probably all like a Hawaiian vacation, but for those that can’t leave Houston, Truck Yard has an attractive alternative. On Saturday, July 13, Truck Yard Houston is having a luau event from noon to midnight. The event will include an authentic luau roast, special coconut cocktails, and an ugly Hawaiian shirt contest. The momentous night will even end with hula and fire dancers.
On Saturday, July 13, the Houston Dash take on the Chicago Stars, who’ll be welcoming back four U.S. National team members from the World Cup, including former Dash player Morgan Brian. Cheer on the Dash by purchasing tickets here.
The Dynamo hosts Mexico’s Club América in the first Leagues Cup game on July 24. The special event will kick off the first cup that combines the U.S. Men’s soccer league and the Mexican soccer league. The game begins at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are still available here.
This July 24 and 30 don’t miss out on the semi-finals of the Battle of the Tribute Bands. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. You’ll be able to enjoy music from Green Day, Metallica, Sublime and Pantera, among others. General admission is free, and tickets are available here.
Gulf Coast soul band The Suffers will be performing at The Secret Group July 31. This Houston-based band has performed on NPR’s Tiny Desk as well as on The Late Show with David Letterman. The show is open to all ages and doors open at 7 p.m. Don’t miss out on this event tickets are available here.
