Judge Hidalgo issues face mask order for Harris County
Beginning Monday, April 27, all Harris County residents ages 10 and older will be required to wear a face mask in public places for 30 days. The order was made to flatten the curve of hospital admissions, and those who are noncompliant will be subjected to a fine.
Judge Hidalgo also stated that purchasing a face mask isn’t required, as they can be made with materials found at home. Check out Houston Chronicle’s article for more details and the latest updates. Local business EaDo Bike Co. is currently providing free masks for their customers.
Dash family make masks for the community
Houston Dash season ticket member Helen Stewart, BBVA Stadium staffer Lana Ramirez, and Dash team trainer Frances Gilbert have teamed up for a good cause to provide protective masks and bonnets for those on the frontlines—including friends and family. You can read all about their efforts here.
EaDo residents connect through chalk
If you’ve been admiring the lovely chalk messages left behind by EaDo residents on the Columbia Tap Trail, you can thank Laura Nicoloff for the idea. Laura came up with the lovely idea to help build that human connection that has been missing due to social distancing. EaDo businesses are working tirelessly to follow the city’s safety guidelines while still serving our community. Here are a few neighborhood spots we want to highlight, and how you can support them:
EaDeaux’s Cajun Cocina
Don’t miss out on EaDeaux’s Cajun Cocina crawfish fest this Saturday, April 25, beginning at 12 p.m.- 5 p.m. to satisfy your crawfish cravings. Pre-orders are available and preferred via their Eventbrite link here. Following an order, customers will be contacted via email to determine an approximate time for pick up.
Brother’s Taco House
This neighborhood favorite is open Monday-Friday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., and are closed
Sunday. Breakfast and lunch tacos are available for pick up. Follow their Facebook page for the latest updates.
Kim Son Restaurant
The longtime neighborhood favorite is offering free delivery on orders of $25 or more when you call the restaurant, and curbside pickup is also available. Current open hours are Sunday-Thursday 11a.m .to 9 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Order for pick up and delivery by calling (713) 222-2461, or order online via Grubhub, UberEats, and DoorDash.
