It’s been a big year for the East Downtown Management District, and we’re thrilled to see the progress EaDo has made in 2018. As we prepare for the upcoming year, we wanted to take a brief moment to reflect on some major milestones.
Civic Vision Award
The EaDo District was honored with the Civic Vision Award from the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects in October. The award acknowledges positive impacts to the built environment through advocacy, volunteer, and professional work, and we are especially proud to see this recognition following years of hard work. Former underutilized buildings are now thriving businesses that benefit our community and the landscape, with much more to come.
EaDo/TIRZ 15 Infrastructure and Streetscapes
You’ve surely noticed all of the construction underway in EaDo! This Phase 1 Infrastructure and Streetscape project is upgrading the area’s utilities and building a great pedestrian environment to match all of the new development that has brought many of our older buildings back to life. This project will be nearing completion in the coming months.
EaDo/TIRZ 15 Comprehensive Planning Kickoff
Earlier in December we kicked off the first public input meeting working toward a comprehensive plan to advance future Public and Private improvements in EaDo. This plan will serve as a guiding document for years to come.
There will be more sessions and outreach upcoming, and we look forward to receiving your input! Keep an eye on the website for information on these sessions.
