Our weekly digest spotlights local news and EaDo-related events to keep you in the loop when it comes to the best neighborhood In the Loop. Catch it every week to stay informed.
Happening this week: a stay-at-home order is in effect for Houston, Nancy’s Hustle has started a fundraiser to support its employees, and you can help Lucky’s Pub feed our local healthcare workers.
In order to prevent the further spread of COVID-19, Judge Lina Hidalgo issued a “Stay Home Work Safe” order. The directive for all non-essential workers to stay home lasts until April 3rd at 11:59 p.m. Essential businesses, like grocery stores, remain open. Restaurants can also offer takeout and delivery services, meaning you can still support your favorite EaDo eateries.
Beloved local restaurant Nancy’s Hustle has created a GoFundMe page, as they’re asking for help to financially support their employees. All donations go to their staff, which is continuing to fulfill to-go orders for customers. If you’d like to make a donation, visit the fundraiser’s page.
A Local Pub is Determined to Feed Houston’s Healthcare Heroes
By donating $5 or more when you pick up a to-go order, you can assist Lucky’s Pub and their mission to feed our local healthcare heroes, who are working nonstop during this pandemic. To start helping (and to avoid the pub’s busy phone lines) you can order from Lucky’s online.
Note: A stay-at-home order may be in effect, but you can continue to support EaDo businesses and eateries by shopping online, taking virtual classes and ordering to-go/for delivery. Here are the latest hours of operation and carryout information for some of your favorite EaDo spots.
