The “reset” button was made for January, as the excesses of December meet the hope of a new year with new habits. For some, this manifests in the form of #DryJanuary, a pledge to abstain from alcohol throughout the month.

In the past, that might have meant staying in or looking on at friends’ drink orders with envy, but bars and restaurants in EaDo are making it easier than ever to discover creative drinks without a trace of alcohol or FOMO.

Nancy’s Hustle

Though the popular dinner destination makes a mean cocktail, the mocktail section of the menu shows that flavor doesn’t have to involve spirits. Options like the “Tart,” which consists of blueberry tea, citrus, hibiscus kombucha, and soda water are a real treat you’d be unlikely to make at home, and despite the throwback association to a childhood favorite, the “Nancy’s Temple”—with spiced cherry syrup, citrus and soda water—makes for a very grown-up selection.

Miss Carousel and Indianola

Agricole Hospitality’s new ventures in the EaDo area, Miss Carousel and Indianola, offer plenty to love for occasional non-drinkers and teetotalers. The “Zero-proof” drink options read like a day on the beach without the hangover; the signature “40 Weeks Mocktail” consists of Golden Milk (turmeric, coconut milk, honey), lime, palm sugar, and orange mineral water, and the Havana Blue Moon Mocktail is made with blueberry, mint, cane sugar, and Topo Chico.
