The 4th of July is coming, which means it’s time to plan where you’ll be watching Houston’s biggest fireworks show, Citgo’s Freedom Over Texas. The fireworks show will begin at 9:35 p.m. at Eleanor Tinsley Park, but for those that don’t want to get caught in the downtown crowds, we have a solution: watch the fireworks in EaDo. We’ve listed some prime spots to enjoy the show.

There are several benches and seats to relax in while you’re watching the fireworks show, and plenty of beer options to choose from. The outdoor space is pet-friendly, but you might want to consider leaving Fido at home if you plan to stay and watch the fireworks.

BBVA Parking Lot

If you want to steer away from the crowds and would rather enjoy the show from your car, the BBVA Parking lot located at the intersection of Walker Street and Emancipation Avenue is close to the action with plenty of space. You may need to pay to park, but it’s worth checking out since it’s close to the action. What’s better than laying on a cozy blanket in your vehicle and avoiding the traffic?
