City of Houston and Reliant Launch 2020 Beat the Heat Program
COVID-19 may have prevented the opening of the usual cooling centers provided by the City’s Beat the Heat program, but Mayor Turner, along with Reliant and Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia, have provided alternatives to help Houston residents keep cool at home this summer. The program this year will provide assistance by distributing portable AC units, care packages, financial assistance and energy efficiency information for Houstonians in need. Their menu and hours of operation are updated weekly, so be sure to check out their website for the latest information and details.
Still open for dine-in service, Huynh Restaurant is also available for takeout and delivery (via the Doordash delivery app). Huynh is open Monday thru Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is closed on Sunday. Takeout menu and Doordash menu are available online.
Nancy’s Hustle
Nancy’s Hustle may not be open for dine-in, but they continue to hustle through the power of takeout.
