Tour EaDo’s sports scene and more this December

After a thrilling 1-0 victory over Sporting KC in front of a sell-out home crowd on Thanksgiving weekend, the Dynamo prepare to take on Los Angeles FC in LA on Saturday. The winner-takes-all Western Conference Final will determine which of the two teams moves on to the 2023 MLS Cup final on Dec. 9.

Even if you aren’t joining the Dynamo in California, you can still snag a front-row seat for the action at the official watch party in EaDo. Put on your brightest orange and head to Pitch 25 for the 8:30 p.m. match

If you’re more into basketball, the Houston Rockets have some upcoming home games to enjoy. Whether you want to grab a burger before tip-off, celebrate after a win, or just watch the game on a big screen, EaDo has the perfect spot.

Of course, big games aren’t the only reason to get out and explore the area this time of year.

Starting Dec. 4, ScootsTX will lead holiday light tours of downtown each Monday through Jan. 15. You can reserve your spot for just $50.

The Howdy H-Town EaDo Food tour also has a few remaining spots. For the next three Saturdays, groups of up to 15 can sign up for a tasty trek featuring some of the neighborhood’s best dishes, with stops at J-Bar-M Smokehouse, Brothers Taco House, and Koffeteria

Next week also brings a chance to have your say in decisions that will impact the future of transportation in EaDo. TXDOT will host public meetings on the I-45 North Houston Highway Improvement Project (NHHIP). An in-person meeting on downtown roadways is scheduled for Dec. 6 at St. John’s Downtown Church, with a virtual option on Dec. 7.
